Winter
The twinkling lights on houses shine and melt this winter's gloom,
Trees all framed in windows shine out from each living room.
This year of 2020, with it's problems that were many,
Left a lot without a penny,
But could still not quench the light,
Of the hope that shines in darkness on this icy winter night.
Children gaze in wonder at the falling of the snow,
And the clear and lovely icicles, and wonder how they grow.
The warmth of love's still flowing, past the ticking of the clock.
There's merriment and wonder still, along this wintery walk.
The twinkling lights on houses shine and melt this winters gloom,
Trees all framed in windows shine out from each living room.
I will gaze past winter's pallor, and find joy in hope today.
The chills of 2020 will surely pass away.
Oh rays of hope, shine out, shine bright,
Diffusing chills this wintery night.
