Winston Leonard Spencer Churchill
Never paid his overdue bill
His amazing memory no one could fight
Because a Shakespeare play he could recite

Never knew his middle names. Didn't know he was a deadbeat, either. Great stuff! Congratulations!

Hi Sneha, And I thought I was doing good memorizing passages of Shakespeare's plays. Wow, Churchill DID have an amazing memory. He was a great man and this is a great clerihew. Congratulations on your win! Carolyn

This was very nice about Winston. In line two, you could just say: Never paid his overdue bill. Clerihew sound better when the lines are very short. Anyway, the last part was pretty humorous. Congrats for y our win in my contest.
