Winning the Dance In Poetry

Winning the Dance in Poetry Philosophically in thought, with my  hands deep in water, I do ponder what winning means? Does it make a dent in the universe, Or in the entire scheme of things? Pray tell, from what, gods of Olympus, do these givers or trophies spring? My vain and weak attempts at poetry, Are the children of sheer self-idolatry! My face becomes crimson red if dare even think I, a poet be! Shakespeare stands at my bed. The Bard, rollicking in uncontrollable hilarity at me! Panagiota Romios 4/17/2019

Hi Panagiota, your words deliver a message but its content is certainly not applicable to you - you write with depth and from the heart - you write wonderful poems dear poet and poetess! Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

Hello Vijay and appreciate your evaluation of this poem. I was looking into myself and my motives. They mean zilch to others but you seem to get where I was going. And for that, I am grateful. Have a glorious day, please! Panagiota~~

- Shakespeare was really talented ... but, not very funny - nor was he a dancer and won no prize while he lived - "winning" in poetry contest ... is encouraging for further improvement for me - I wish you a wonderful Easter :) - // Anne-Lise :)

Hi Sunshine, I never dated Shakespeare, so do not know of his dancing abilities. They did dance in his time-)). And he did have a sense of humor, au contraire. This poem was a soliloquy, wherein I was questioning my motives. I won a contest here and a POTD..am sure you did, too. They are fun and a way to grow, yes! God Bless You this Easter! Winning a prize for me does not mean I am a good poet. It's a poetry game.nothing more. Panagiota
