Winning the Chase

She battles fatigue
by road climbing and painting
bolder palettes splash
on flamed wigs, on glossed canvas…
with punk, outracing mad cells

Monster tissues grow
yet lust for life soothes barbed pain
caroling to stars
and praying 'neath hopeful moon...
“I bless unforgiving C. ”

Past  stage 1, she jousts;
vicious fibers lose the chase
her zest, not anger
conquers lymph nodes' erosion…
scaling roads, painting fresh scenes!

            ---------

For dear friend Eena who is in remission;
may you live fully!

Playing catch-up here. Gutsy verse overtaking a disease with solid, triumphant images." Caroling to stars" hit me.
