Notes About The Poem

Winner

Winner

If I win the lottery,
it would be because “He” wanted me to do so.
It would only take one ticket.
Okay then… if I play, and if I win…

But wait…
I am a winner.
I have food on the table and plenty to eat.
I have shelter, a roof for myself and my kids.
I have enough, of everything that is truly “needed”.
There is even bounty, beyond my cup…
more than I need.
Which HE has given…
allowing me…
to share…

His grace, His kindness.
He has shown me…
what it is to be loved,
that I might share it as well.

That is winning…
that can not be measured,
in a ticket,
a promise of something…
I already have,
and share as often as I can.

Thankful and humble…
Amen.

If every person understands the true meaning of winning, selfish and greedy acts get washed away in the tides of gratitude. Very well done Ann. :)

Oh I love that "tides of gratitude". We could sure use a bit of that... Most all want "free free, give to me"... As if owed something by someone? Thank you for your kind comments. Have the very best day my friend. Ann

Life is great when we learn to be grateful for what we have got instead of worrying about what we haven't got. Lovely write Ann.

You are so sweet. Thank you for taking time to comment. Oh yes...grateful is often overlooked daily...for what is right in front of us. Hope you have flowers near you. A garden full, to brighten and cheer your day, today and every day. ann

G'day Ann … I believe greed comes into the frame. Having a fortune does not mean having happiness. Thank you Ann - Lindsay

We always say, "if I won... I would... change the world"...yet most go bankrupt and have a terrible time. What we do not earn, usually gets us into trouble. Hugs my friend from another land. Ann
