Winged Intruder

Wishing to kindle a cozy blaze
hearth doors swung, I stood amazed

a dark winged creature entered the room
escaping from its pending tomb

Kids eyes widened, my wife did scream
as I leapt into action for my team

From the closet I grabbed a broom
and chased the bat from room to room

as we both tired of this game
its skilled retreat brought me shame

when I wished to chase no more
it then flew out the open door

We often get birds in the house and large moths but a bat would be more scary. Looks like he wanted in your cave lol SuZ
