Notes About The Poem

Not sure if this is a true Haiku.  I have read so many conflicting interpretations as of late that I may give up trying to understand the Haiku and just write them.  Who knows....even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and then.

Window Pain - Haiku

Window Pain/Haiku

dreams gaze outward
through opaque memory
old windows lie

This is a blue-collar poem. We may always wish that we had made different decisions in the past, but we did our best at the time. Maybe it's time to let ourselves off the hook; forgive ourselves for not having been perfect even if we had the best of intentions.

Great play on the title word, John. Painful memories my dull and become opaque, but they never disappear.

Yeah, Craig, Haiku is sorta like planting a bag of unlabeled seeds and then waiting....and waiting....
