Will of Fire

The storm was sudden and swift Though it caught me unawares I didn’t mind or fight the drift Nor was I conscious of my tears The cold water burned all around As my naked skin endured the pain My body floats as my heart hit the ground Realising loving you was all in vain Though I’ve been here many times I fear, this time, I might not survive Death’s chants and nursery rhymes Stamp out my fire’s will to thrive My flames have been taken by a bocian My will of fire is no more It remains buried deep in the ocean Along with my heart riddled with sores
