If the handicapped can, I can get out and do something also..
Degenerative joint disease equals pain. Cartilage wears away bone touches bone. Each movement becomes a difficult strain. From once silent lips now slow releases moans. Comfort~freedom from pain now luxury. Carefully words form a line on paper. Depression could follow in a hurry. No! Will not summit nor will I confer to being trapped at home unadorned with life, viewing humans and the wide world from a window or a TV condemned to no life~let new life be unfurled. Life explored not sipped suckled but imbibed. Pour life ~ fill me with what God has prescribed. Contest:"Things That Suck" Sponsor:Nancy Jones

last two lines, I meant - sorry, I'm kind of tired (I fell asleep at the hospital and Sue elbowed me, as I was snoring loudly and people were laughing!)

I can sympathise...my wife suffers with a similar thing, but she makes the most of life just the same. A spirited and poetic write. xoxo Robert.

This has to be a very painful condition that really "sucks" the energy out of you. So sorry you have to suffer this way, Sara, but you penned a great entry for the contest. I guess one of the things we have in common is health problems. You're always in my prayers, dear. Winning wishes for your poem! Love, Carolyn
