Will I Be Forgotten

Will I Be Forgotten

are my words mere dust
as so many others believe;
while shouting their life
from the bottom of a well.

will they only last as long as I do
posting them on ephemeral pages?
are there no gods who enjoy
shuffling through reams of life?

then I remember the blue spark,
which takes each written poem
into the gloom of sentient night
crossing space from here to where.

no poem is ever lost!
no matter, it is launched
as hybrid beams deep
toward the beginnings of time.

perhaps they are awaiting us
out there ahead of our flights
we will discover a universe of thoughts
and recognize them as our own.

There is nothing new under the Sun...so "They" say; who are the "They" I wonder? Perhaps it is just a matter of acknowledging that all things are possible...it is just a matter of time. Love this, Patricia -- intriguing write! :) john

What a wonderful idea. Could we arrange to meet up,through our poems, out there, sometime, somewhere ? Lovely.

Wow amazing ! My sentiments are echoed here too. You fancy quatrain? You should give sonnets a bash then. These questions that you ask, are they too unfair? Because I too have asked them..is that all there is?

I fancy what ever mode will carry my words best. I have done a Pantoom or three. limericks when in a rollicking mood.

I do not believe that any question is unfair we were created with curiosity and the creator doesn't make mistakes. I really believe that the electronic machines we use will spread our poems across the universe. It is a fact. I wonder if we will recognize ourselves at the other end?
