Notes About The Poem

Wildly Beautiful

summer tanager
a red streak into the wood
gold sunshine on green

amethyst evening
when the pale moon is glowing
weeping willow breeze

a pink and gold dream
cherry blossom petals fall
with sunshine pouring

dancing in the rain
amid a blur of bright hues
mad mad summer days

Very creative and expressive work. I can't see myself dancing in the rain. Enjoyed your work. Sara

Is your poem sweet, adorable, gorgeous, a delight for the sense, or enchanting? Correct answer: All of the above, and then some. Marvelous, Evelyn. :) gw P.S. Oh, yes. I used to see signs all over the neighborhood by Chicago White Sox ball park (then Comiskey Park) as a youth: 'The King is Coming.' I remember asking my father if that meant 'Elvis.' He said, "No. Someone much more talented, Nat King Cole." Yet they both died in their 40's, didn't they? He was smooth as silk. :) gw

Your warm, appreciative response to my poem leaves absolutely nothing to be desired, Gershon. Thank you very much. I think 'silk' is a great way to describe the smooth voice of Nat King Cole. Though both he and the talented Elvis died tragically young, they both gifted the world so much before they did. I'm glad you liked this musical selection. :) Evelyn
