Wildflower

I saw a lone flower,
    very delicate and pretty,
        in a soft shade,
       on a day windy,
           it danced and swayed;
unaware . . . its friends had decayed.

The last dancer, so entranced by the wind to be unaware of loss...a fave. I love 'on a day windy' - the word order change feels like the wind. J :)

Dear Constance, There’s a gentle sadness, but also a kind of courage, and it feels very much like the way you see the world, attentive, tender, and thoughtful. Reading it made me pause and notice something I might have otherwise overlooked. Blessings, Constance, Daniel
