Wilderness of Want
I am within you, though without you tonight.
Without you I am eyes without sight.
To you, its my love, my body, my soul, I bestow.
My love is a tapestry I need to sew.
Without you I am a needle without thread.
Unwanted thoughts fill my head.
I am day turned to night without time,
and an unwritten poem without rhyme.
The mornings appear without glistening dew.
Just an empty shell without you.
What is a gossamer web without its spider?
I am a wild steed without a rider.
What is a ripple without its rhythm on a pond?
wanting so dearly for you to respond.
Longing for your intimate caress, here I stand.
Yearning for a touch of your hand.
Waking in a wilderness of want, I did not plan.
What good am I as a woman, wanting her man?
