Wilderness of Mirrors

Each season a new mirror rises
in our wilderness of mirrors
with their polished glass
reflecting the times we live in
we may reminisce about older mirrors
that rose in previous seasons
because this new mirror shines dimly in the darkness
reflecting a shadowy gloom
of turmoil and ugly ambiguity
from the faces of uncontrolled emotion
and unreasoned perspective
Maybe, next season a brighter mirror will rise
in our wilderness of mirrors

Frederic, dear friend, dear poet, the reflective tone of your poem is literally and metaphorically beautiful. Your use of imagery with "older mirrors", "new mirrors" and "next season's mirror" is thought-provoking as they speak to nostalgia, struggle and future hope as one reflects upon self and the seasons of life. Wonderful poetry my dear friend! Warmest wishes.. ~Susan

My dear friend, dear poet thank you for your very kind remarks, Craigs contests are a challenge and this one needed a different set of reasoning, thank you again Susan for being the poet you are, I don't get many opinions these days, many blessings to you dear friend, dear poet... Frederic
