Wild Things
you must learn to love your emotions,
to accept them,
to display them freely,
to hold their hands and kiss their cheeks--
because without them, where would we be?
whoever told you that you must hide them--
those wild things,
those "child" things
--do not listen to them.
your feelings are not childish.
they are not invalid.
they are real and true.
they are here for no one to subdue.
even the skies cry when they are sad
and even mountains burst when they are angry.
you are a gorgeous element of nature
so let them all come--every tear or every smile--
and set them free
because you were always meant to be
as beautiful and wild as the sea.
