Why We Love Them

No matter how bad a day they've had

A dog will always do

Whatever it takes to make you glad,

To show a love that's true.

That's why we love them too.

Even if they are hurt or scared

They'll offer comfort to you

By showing you that they cared.

That's what a dog will do

And that's why we love them too.

Hi Francine. Thanks for the honour you bestowed on me in your contest. It means a lot to me. Best of luck in the contest with this. We could learn from our pets, what they give is massive in comparison to what we give them. Once again, Thanks. Eamon

I saw a bumper sticker once that said "The more people I know, the better I like my dog". Your double quintain describes everything quite well with some good rhyming.

Animals express gratitude better than people do, and more often as well, Francine. Best wishes for success in Joyce's contest with your heartwarming poem. Love, Carolyn
