Why We Are

All of this time I just thought it was me,
That wanted the answer to set myself free,
The meaning why life has me dreaming of
death,
My heart beating twice just before my next
breath...
Why does the sun feel so warm on my face?
Why is it love that we feel in embrace?
Why do we age as we travel through time?
Becoming the page for a book that will bind...
Something I sense is much closer than skin,
Nothing is meant till the ink leaves my pen,
What I observe probably never was there,
Until the urge takes a form I can bare...
What matters exists as a part of us all,
To shatter the myth of a conscious on call,
Once you have "will" there is always a "way",
Then emptiness fills with thoughts we
portray...
I've realized it's us that the universe needs,
Can magic be just with no wizard to cede,
Impeding somehow what is hidden in stealth,
So we become how it expresses itself...
