Why Wait
I wonder why we permanently wait
For love, for peace, for distant brighter days.
They come and go. We curse the evil fate
And once again get trapped inside this maze.
We honestly believe a brand new sun
Will light the ninety-second day of spring,
We wait to gain more energy to run,
But feet get numb and cannot feel a thing.
When we're afraid to live right now and here,
Illusions feel much safer, but they steal
The magic of this time, this day, this year,
As we indulge in something quite unreal.
Imaginary castles in the sky
Are beckoning, we view them with delight,
We humbly wait until we learn to fly,
But they just fall before we reach this height.
We build them all anew, but it's too late,
The moment's gone, it's time for something more.
This life's a masterpiece that we create,
It's not a list of scenes we're waiting for.
