Why Use Words That Hurt

Loser geek and even nerd
Very painful hurtful words
Makes you feel pushed and shoved
All alone and never loved
An outcast by other people
Wishing one day you could feel
Accepted for being you
Born this way you are so true
To yourself and never want
To change any little part
Of this person deep inside
Special enough not to hide
Qualities that are unique
Wishing others would just peek
Seeing you are not at all
The names you are being called
You just want to be treated
With the kindness that is needed
To survive and not be shunned
This hatred needs to be undone

I can relate big time as i worked with students with additional needs - mainly Asperger's - its such a shame that people can't see that some disabilities are not visible and not realise that their behaviours are something they can't control its just part of who they are. hugs jan xx

I'm relating very much to your openness and honesty in your poems, Robin. In an encouraging, heart strengthening way. So many of us have been through soul destroying circumstances. And have survived. And are in the "healing process..." You express "fellow feeling" and empathy towards those who are "different", yet need to be accepted. I deeply appreciate your poetry. Helping me, and many others to "hold their ground." Warm regards, ((Hugs))
