Why Poetry
Poets must write to release the feelings and inspirations that live in our souls. There is no choice for a true poet. These ideas must be shared to give them life. They must be spoken to give them power. And they must be written to give them immortality.
Poems must be available to spark creativity in people's souls. There is a hunger, a searching in many people's lives to find the right words to explain what they are feeling inside. Perhaps someone will read something from me, in them that will give them closure, happiness or a simple memory. As I have no choice to write poetry, they have no choice but to read poetry.
This creative process called poetry will never stop because it reminds the world that we are not animals and are capable of real feelings. Poetry transforms thoughts and feelings into words that can be digested time and time again. Poetry is a living thing that will continue to grow and inspire the next generation of poets like it did you and me.
