Why our mothers

#Why_our_mothers? Maybe they never demand paternity test to prove we were theirs, maybe they never left us when we needed them most, maybe they just never wanted to create much confusion in their children's lives by choosing to be there, for us and with us Maybe being there for their children was the only option on the table for them, maybe they needed no one to prove their motherly love, maybe to teach themselves that it's alright to raise their kids by themselves Maybe they too needed to be commended for staying, for enduring the hardships of raising a child by self, maybe for constantly being subjected to criticism, for being woman, and mostly, for being mother's, our mothers Maybe that's why their daughters don't trust men, maybe why they fear men, maybe why they value their mothers this much, maybe why they always look up to them, maybe that's why they have much hatred towards men, maybe they took and inherited everything from their mothers, maybe that was the only thing before them Maybe that's why their sons, don't want anything with their mothers, maybe that's why they keep saying:I don't want my own children to grow up like me, I wanna be there for them, maybe that's why they hurt women, maybe that's what they learnt from their fathers, maybe that's why some think it's normal to leave their children, to be absent fathers, maybe that's why there's too much of; my mother, in every conversation they have Maybe they see their mothers as their only sheroes, maybe their mothers are all they had and have, maybe everything is wrong with this, maybe that's the only right thing in their lives Maybe that is why our mothers, that's why these daughters and sons see themselves in their mothers, value their mothers, want nothing with their mothers, maybe that's why they never end a sentence without punctuating with; my mother. Maybe they are just purely their mother's children, maybe that's why with our mothers #Poetic_Ink

My father left my mother when I was 5 years old, me and my two brothers moved in with my grandmother, while my mother went to work to keep us, even though times were hard in those days, we never went short of anything, one thing I learned was, there's no greater love than a mothers love. Enjoyed reading your poem Ink God bless you.
