Why On Earth I Love Such a Man
Each night I whisper softly
Why on earth I love such a man
As you sleep quietly next to me
Your eyes closed and mouth still
Brings a smile upon mine
I never anger when I am asked
Why on earth I love such a man
For I take no greater pleasure
In thinking each of the ways
I only name that of a fair few
Aloud to those wondering ears
Why on earth I love such a man
As I could not give each pleasant thought
To each passing of those people near
Or shower them with ways
The notion that they too need to know
Why on earth I love such a man
If they knew of that tender smile
Or the soft kisses you place on my lips
What could occur would be such a fear
Why on earth I love such a man
That any other woman could love
If given the chance with your sweet ways
Or laid upon these white cotton sheets
So perhaps next time when I am asked
Why on earth I love such a man
I’ll keep my thoughts in my head
And sit there with a grin upon my face
For they will never know in which the ways
Why on earth I love such a man
