Why Must the Sun Shine So Bright

If the sun must shine, why so bright?

Are you happy with the world?

Think again.

There are murders, famine, poverty.

There is racism, bullying, torture.

Are you proud of this?

There are beatings and abuse,

There are wars and disastors.

Why must you beam gayly?

So when you shine so brightly,

look down on our world.

See the pain.

See the suffering.

Your rays cannot change it.

Your smile only makes me cry.

I have to stay here and watch.

Whilst you live in ignorance.
