Why Is the World This Way?
We go day to day
Without thinking to sit and pray.
So many things we don’t say.
So many people have to pay.
Why is the world this way?
We send men to battle a war,
Filled with much death and gore.
It’s gotten to the point we don’t care anymore.
Send children to replace the dead men that lay.
Why is the world this way?
A sweet little innocent sole,
Brought into the world as a drug took it’d toll.
She’s two month’s early
And has a heart with a hole.
Her mother didn’t stay
When a home for special children took her away.
Why is the world this way?
A little boy is playing with his charismas toy.
He laughs to sweet
Because he thinks its neat.
He’s just a little three year old
Playing under a charismas tree.
A man in a car puts a bullet in his head
And speeds away.
His parents were the ones who found him that day.
Why is the world this way?
A new girl comes into the classroom
And sits in back.
The only difference is she is black.
The children say she is not allowed to play.
So many mean things kids will say.
Why is the world this way?
A woman stands up to her husbands fist.
But it seems he has broken her wrist.
People stand
And stare not knowing what to say.
She begs for help,
But they look the other way.
Why is the world this way?
People put a tag on their soles
As they pledge their allegiance to a flag.
It seems like a worn out rag.
God is real,
But because of this,
So much hurt he feels.
Still not one person prays.
Why is the world this way?
