Why I Weep

BONE MARROWS A SPIKE INSIDE
PRESSURE BUILDING WITH MIGHT
WHILE TEARS DROP-FREELY
HEART WRINKLED-A LOVER'S MISTAKE.

YOU ASK WHY I WEEP,
WHEN MY SOUL FADES TO SLEEP
LEAVING IT DRAINED WITH MELANCHOLY
AN AMATEUR LOVER'S INSANITY-

WHAT FELL FROM YOUR LIPS
IN THAT VERY FIRST CLIP
PLAYED BY YOUR HEART'S FEVER,
"I LOVE THEE FOREVER."

AND HERE YOU LEAVE ME DRY
LOVE BLEEDING TO DEATH-AND I CRY
TELLING YOU-"THIS IS NOT JUST."
FOR HERE I AM IN THE FROST.

YOU HAVE BLED A LOVER'S HEART
AND DEFILED HIS SOUL'S MAT-
THAT IS THE REASON I WEEP
AND SILENTLY FALL ASLEEP.
