Why I Cried Out Loud

When I was born I cried aloud, what would become of me I thought. Nobody cared to know if I was proud, from one person to another I was touched. I didn't know my right from wrong, with no ideas of good or bad. People said that I was black and strong, but that didn't matter at all. If only they could understand, the meaning of the words I spoke. I hated them passing me around, and for that reason I cried out loud.
