Why Have I Lost You

I'd give you a world
full of apologies
if it could help heal
the deep wound
Wounds I know are there
but you refuse let me see
How can I make it right
if I don't know what is wrong
How can love be the
ointment for the scar
if you hide it under band aids
Somewhere on our journey
I hurt you
but it hurts me too
knowing you walked away
in pain strong enough
to keep you from me
I reach out my hand to you
but you chose not
to take it
I gave you life and
I know I gave you pain
but I can't fix what is broken
if you take away the tools
When you're ready
to let me reconstruct your
broken heart I'll be here
but don't risk opportunity
for it can disappear
Remember God gave me
only one you
and God made me
your only one too
