Why Do I Love Thee

Jesus, Savior of the world,
Why do men not love thee?
Could it be that they are blind,
Having eyes- but cannot see?

Jesus, friend of all mankind,
Why do men not love thee?
Perhaps they have seen the light,
But sadly they have rejected it-
Rather choosing night.

Jesus, Lord of all the Earth
Why do men not love thee?
Maybe they have heard the gospel truths,
But have ears that cannot hear?

Jesus, Lover of my soul,
Why do I love thee?
Because you first loved me- a sinner
Unworthy of such Grace…
You forgave me, and set me free.

Jesus, lover of my soul,
Why do I love thee?
Three words can explain it all-
From Death, Hell, and the grave,
I have been set free.
