Why Do I Keep On Loving You

You tell me it's time that I leave
That You never really loved me
You tell me to take little Steve
That he's mine and you want to be free

You said you didn't ask for this family
That me and little Steve, are draggin' you down
You said that if i'd go drinking, you wouldn't feel so empty
And that maybe, I wouldn't be such a letdown

Well how many hearts will you break
Do you think we have no feelings
And How many tears will you create
Every time a man calls you darling
Oh, why do I keep on loving you

My friends all say to forget you
And they tell me to just say goodbye
Well sometimes, that's what I want to do
Then I look at little Steve and cry

Well how many hearts will you break
Do you think we have no feelings
And how many tears will you create
Every time a man calls you darling
Oh, why do I keep on loving you

So hard to face up to the fact that you love someone who doesn't love you back. Beautifully expressed!
