Why Do I?

Why do I feel this way?
A twenty something
Going through a post midlife crisis
Staring in the eyes of Isis
Screaming in the face of Anubis

Questioning everything & everyone
Looking for an answer
To questions already answered

Stuck in transition
Like static on an empty t.v. screen
Howling at night, looking for a fight
Staring in the mirror of discontent
Trying to reconnect with people I've pushed away

Why do monsters from my childhood
Only haunt at night?

Seeking closure for heinous deeds
Praying for some kind of sweet release
Only to find myself in a cerebral prison
Full of weeds.
