Why Am I Not Afraid

Why am I not afraid?
To no one do I expect to receive aid
To no one is my mind or body a slave or a maid
To no one do I run to when I believe the Lord is not answering when I pray

Why am I not afraid ?
To no one do I turn to when I feel my life is a dismay
To no one do I blame when I have been left betrayed
To no one do I stop trusting and start to trust when I have been misled

I am not afraid because I am me
I am not afraid because I have remained me
My heart is free
My eyes can see
That my life is full of glee
So by the beach I sit and see
The layers and layers of water flowing widely and peacefully into the sea
I am me, I am free

Why should I be afraid?
