Why

Why

Why does my body not give up
its will to live no matter what.
I have walked the shores
of that deep blue sea wherein
would be the end of me.

Yet each morn I awake
my path still here, for me to take
Poems gushing from my every thought
as if obliged in a moment caught
up, once more in a feverish plot.

It seems the goal is to empty my mind
of dreams and truths of every kind.
Lay it bare for all people to see
and thus be judged for the life I lived.
Perhaps then, only God need forgive.

I think that whatever is inside of you that will not let go of life is in fact life itself, the very life of life. Enjoyed the verse.

Well I will just have to give its way because the fight is exhausting. When the pain gets so bad and I feel so weak it is then that I want to let go.

Do you know what it was, the swoosh. I thought people would find this one a bit of a downer.Yet for me it is true; there is something inside of me that will not let go of life. Thanks for your sensitive feed back Maureen.
