Why

Why do we have to be so strong?
Why say 'I'm fine when things are wrong?
Why do we smile when in turmoil inside?
Why should we take everything in our stride?
Why put on a brave face?
Why live life at a fast pace?
Why do we have to go on a diet?
Why do we often have to be quiet?
Why do we feel we have to get fit?
Why are we careful where we sit?
Why do we watch the words we say?
Why do we look in the mirror each day?
Why do we feel love is in the air?
Why do we live like we really don't care?
Why are we here, what do we think?
Why do we say life is going down the sink?
Why do we love and why do we cry?

Here it is, I'm telling you why.

Compassion and caring
Loving actions we try
That's why we are
Just me and just you
Keep it all going
Just do.

You know, these are the questions I ask myself every day. I ask the questions and I get no answers. A 7

Thank you for commenting Darlene. We should keep asking Why? Perhaps Clarity will answer - whoever she is.

Yes, those "whys" we can never get answers to, Barbara, but which we need to ask when we're down. Your last six lines, however, come forth with the answers found deep in our heart. I enjoyed reading your poem tonight. Sandra
