Why

I’ve walked with you through shadows of pain
I beckoned to you often
Calling softly, whispering your name.

I offered you solace, a fiery hand of vengeance,
An unbreakable promise, a shield of defiance
In your sorrows, you found a twisted comfort
Rejecting peace, embracing the storm’s thunder.
You dreaded tomorrows, a habitual fear,
Drowning in weakness, shame drawing near.

You are a queen, a goddess, a rare flower
When I look at you I see the sun
You are hope, you are love...you are my daughter
Equality to my son

Why won't you notice me?
Why do you run from me?
Why do you reject me?

Why can't you see me?
I've been with you all the while.

In your state of neglect and destitute ways,
You call yourself a fatherless child, lost in the haze.
I’ve dried your tears each time you cried.
I gave you strength when you wished to die.

I’ve turned the bad into good,
You still feel you can’t go on, but I know you could
You seek love in your imagination.
But it’s pretentious hope a false acceptance.
A beautiful façade that has its limitations.

It’s an illusion
A wake-able dream
The answer is right here
It's within me

I haven't moved
My bond is certified true
I ache for the answer
Why don't you let me love you???
