Why?

El Shaddai Compassionate One
My God who gave your only Son
To suffer on a cross to die
The question that I ask is why
You’d do this awesome thing for me
The one who nailed you to that tree
It was your love that led you there
Upon Golgotha’s Skull to bear
The penalty for all my sin
In order that I might begin
To know the love you have for me
You took my place and set me free
Perhaps when all time passes by
I’ll fully know the reason why.
