Why

My eyes fixated on a spot on the wall For fear that if I look away, the tears might start to fall My nails dug into my thigh And I let out a deep sigh “Why” The thought pounded in my head Like a boulder that can never be dead “Why” Why here, why now, why everything all around It all did not make sense to me Until I found the light you see I now know the answer And the answer is me
