Who's In Charge Here

Who’s in Charge Here?

Rules obscure the boundaries
of nothingness.
Migrant marauders seeking
mindfulness
narrow the funnel’s
outflow
squeezing the contents
to slow-flo.

Purity of thought denies
mind’s murky masquerade
smiling faces mockingly
engage in lie’s charade.

Pencil stalking
stark white sage
suppressing passion’s
white hot rage
encage the wrath
of poesy
declare such lusts
all heresy.

Blindfolded poets
ever-night
a string-less freedom
seeking kite.

Ahhh but to be able to remain stringless. A wonderful piece you've shared John.

Bravo John I agree with Janice it is a thought provoking poem -I especially love the second stanza and am adding it to my faves so i can delve into it again . Love the alliteration its one of my favourite poetic devices:-) hugs jan xx

Thank you Jan. I like the flow of alliterative moments in the midst of a poem.....sorta like whistling past the grave yard.

I really like that last stanza taken in context. The poet's struggle with what's going on in my mind.

it's another case of mind over matter.....as in .....if you don't mind - it don't matter.
