Who Will

Who will wipe away these tears when helpless on my bed I lie wearied by my woeful fears knowing that I soon will die? Crying softly through the night praying for a hopeful sign asking for a brief respite from the sadness in my mind. Come now, wrap me in your love put your hands upon my chest feel the warmth that’s from above hope and peace and blessed rest. Who will wipe away these tears when helpless on my bed I lie? God will comfort all my fears and lift me up to heavenly skies.

Laura, as we age, these thoughts visit more frequently. It’s an ageless cycle and you’ve emotionally and beautifully expressed those concerns…only to alleviate them by accepting the comfort in God that has always been there for us.

Thank you for commenting, Mark. My sister was recently diagnosed with advanced cancer and I’m thinking snd praying for her in this trying time. It’s been a different journey..
