Who We Be

I once was of the darkness, the turmoil from within,
the shadows of a haunted past, as memories begin.
To go back and relive all the torment and pain,
to leave behind a world where, there is no gain.
To find the true you, that only by the fires, refines,
to break the chains, that held you in your confines.
To set free, from darkness in the hearts,
to show the way, that’s played by both parts.
To except us, as we are, both shadow and light,
to keep our shadows at our feet, is our true fight.
To be giver of life, that we ourselves may live,
love, peace, and compassion we give.
When two worlds stands out like night and day,
now you know that you have found your way.
A world full of light, a true world can we see,
as now we know, exactly who we be.
