Who We Are

There are times in our lives, that define who we become,
Some may be hard; some make our hearts beat like a drum.
The good and the bad times, even the moments in between,
The joyous, heartfelt occasions, those that were serene.
Heartache and desperation, failure and success,
Days full of happiness, nights filled with distress.
Love and laughter, all our hopes and dreams,
From the ones we fulfilled, to those we ripped at the seams.
We can't give up on our desires, we've all come this far,
Even the little things, define who we are.
We all need to remember, what people get is what they see,
We can live our lives and become all we want to be.

Who we are, and who we want to be... I bet no one has these two the same. Nice rhyming.

I'm not sure. I'm a fun loving lady with a heart of gold, I'm a wife and mum. Writing poetry is my passion. Therefore I am who I am and I am who I want to be.
