Who Was He
Just who was He to give up all
To die for you and me?
You know that man who died upon
The Cross to set us free.
I heard He would talk to the crowds
For quite awhile you see.
I never found much time for Him
So tell me who was He?
So say "He's the Messiah Christ
Who came for you and me
To rescue those that have been lost"
I wonder could it be?
I heard some say,
"He is the way the truth the life
Was His promise from above
If we abide in Him
He'll truly give His love"
I thought they may be right, but then
They also might be wrong
Now look at Him just hanging there
Just look at that huge throng.
The one spoke out in mockery,
"He'd rise up in three days."
I knew if He did that
I'd want to know His ways.
Now I believe His words are true
For He will not betray
He's laid down death and is alive
He's here to light our way.
That's when my heart was broken
I asked what must I do?
Jesus I know now You are God
I want to come to You.
He answered," Just believe in Me
Have faith in Me you'll find,
If you abide in Me you'll be
My brother throughout time.
