Who Shall I Send?

When all failed, Abba asked, 'Who would I send?'
Thunderous lava lights caused commotion.
Like a meek slave, Christ expressed his consent.
Waves of chaos pooled like tsunamis in an ocean.

Didn't endless 'Holy' give him pleasure?
The universe stood in sombre surprise.
Leaving heaven, did he seek earthly leisure?
The need for freedom of beings filled his eyes.

Bones would be broken and blood would be shed.
He knew a cross-shaped wood would be his bed.
With hands nailed, he would be left to stand dead.
Was it with no knowledge that he went ahead?

Heaven came down at his incarnation.
Time stood still in timeless hesitation.
