Who Needs Goals

Goals.
Who needs them?
I can coast along
Getting by without any.

Goals.
Silly for someone like me.
I am too young, I am fine.
I am too busy. I do not have time.

Coasting from couch to couch.
Delighting relatives the first two nights with stories.
Asked to leave by night three.
Gladly go, resolving to never come back.
Using friends, eating their food, making them mad.
Dumped from their couches also.

On a park bench now, my bench.
Watching busy people wearing matching clothes.
Matching shoes, matching hats, matching winter coats.
Everyone in black except for a couple of girls.
Walking to jobs. I feel sorry for them.

They had goals.
Where did it get them?
Was their goal to work all day?
Was their goal to dress like thousands of others?
Did they realize they were trading their time for their goal?

Goals!
Who needs them?
Not me.

I need them...otherwise I'd do nothing...There'll come a time I guess, I would do without goals...because I'll be living off them...

Hahahahaha We pretty much do not think we need them, especially some of the children I meet who know they will take over their nefarious family's business.
