Who Moved My Slippers

Jumped out of bed this morning,
Eyes still closed,
Just to find my feet upon a floor
That was so cold,
Let out quite a shriek …
As Jack Frost had taken liberties
To nip at not just my nose,
But, just to think,
He had the nerve to pinch my toes...
Who moved my slippers?
Seems nobody knows!

A bigger question than that would be
Who had the nerve
To turn down the thermostat,
On a night which was freezing cold.... hmmm
I will catch the culprit yet
Then maybe pay them back

Forget that and Jack
Enough is enough
Now, give my slippers back!

A cute piece Adell! If you're not steppin' down on carpet you'll get a nasty surprise! Neat closing rhyme... Best wishes, Keith

Adell this is just brillantly done!! You've taken an every day occurance for some of us ... LOL ... and done just a great write here!! The poet, Edgar Guest was known for "folksy" poems of everyday events ... are you familar with him? He had one called "Ma and Her Checkbook" that this kind of reminds me of ... anyway ... wonderful work here!!

Oh, Adell! Very amusing. I've had my slippers pinched as well, usually by one of my pups! I truly enjoyed and thank you for commenting on my writing. Robin

This is so funny I am still LMAO. This has happened with me when I turned the heat down at night, especially in the winter. The floor was definitely cold, especially when it Mexican tiled floor. Stay warm! Great job! ~Joseph

Cute funny poem!! Makes me think of the war that goes on in my house all winter, when my husband turns the heater off, I turn it on, then he turns it off, and on and on it goes!! I don't like cold toes!! He goes barefoot! Clever, enjoyable poem! ~ Carrie
