Who Is To Claim This Sullen Heart

Who is to claim this sullen heart? These frozen lands, These charcoal trees, These crooked lanes, That lead to walls, Of gold and lead? Who dares to claim this sullen heart? A scarecrow guards a barren field, ‘ been here too long been here too long… no crow to scare not anymore.’ Whose eyes are those that seek no sun? Whose hands are those that crave no touch? Wild winds swirl behind the eyes, No word will escape, not even a sigh! Who is to claim this sullen heart? These rusted swords, These broken shields, These hollow bones, Where shadows linger, And glow worms sleep? Who dares to claim this sullen heart? An iron golem guards the gates. ‘ been here too long been here too long…. no foes to fight not anymore.’ Whose smile is this that mocks the sky? Whose words are these that preach demise? Oceans clash behind the eyes, No word will escape, not even a sigh! Who is to claim such sullen heart? These purple moors, These empty turrets, These haunted coves, Where secrets grow, Into blossoms of woe? Who dares to claim such sullen heart? Let no man claim Let no man seek What lies beyond the gold and lead. There is no heart. Just silent hills And stifled sighs, Which turned to fiends, That turned to ghosts, And on and on. There is no heart. There never was. Just bits of bone, And threads of flesh, Which turned to stone, That turned to sand, And on And on…
