Who Is They

I’d like to get ahead, but they won’t let me.
Who is they?
I’d like to hold my head up, but they won’t let me.
Who is they?
I’d like to be happy, but they won’t let me.
Who is they?

They own everything.
They control everything.
They always keeping me down.
Who is they?
Who is they?
Who is they?

Why?

Within the “they” lies the “y.”
“He” lies within the “they.”
Rejecting the “He” is the “y.”
For though “They” rule the day,
Greater is the “He” that lies within me;
Then the “They” that governs today.
