Who Is Knocking At My Door

Who is Knocking at my Door
By Franklin Price

Who is that knocking at my door?
Someone who has been before?
Should I answer, should I hide?
Should I invite the knock inside?

Is it a stranger or a friend?
One on whom I can depend?
I have glass I can explore
To see who's knocking at my door

The blinds are closed so I can sneak
Up to the door so I can peek
I'll tip toe so the floors won't creak
To see the one for whom I seek

Now I'm looking through the hole
I do not see a single soul
Open the door, what do I see?
A cardboard box that's there for me

Forgot I ordered a door bell
Although the knock has done quite well
A programmed ring will be so swell
When someone's there, so I can tell

Thanks Andrea, I saw the contest at about the same time I got a delivery from UPS. It wasn't a door bell but the thought fit. There could always be a person there. Happy New year a little early
