Who I Am Today

I am every second
of everyday gone by.
I am every time 
I cried out and 
questioned "Why?"

I am every teardrop
That has ever streamed 
Down my face.
I am every person I lost, 
and then tried to fill their place

I am every mistake
And regret of my past.
And every relationship
That just didn't last.

I am every laugh 
and smile that crossed my face,
I am every stunned look 
Of awe at this beautiful place.

Without every low,
And without every high.
Without everything
In the days gone by.

With every loss 
and with every gain
And with whatever life 
Has brought my way

With all that's happened,
Up to this day,
It has all helped me 
Become 
who I am today.
