Who I Am Today
Before there was joy,
I was alone, and unhappy,
Before there was love,
I was on thin ice with my family,
Before there was honesty,
I was a drug addict living in denial,
Before there was restraint,
I was a criminal, running wild,
Before there was redemption,
I was someone I wish I didn't know,
Before there was courage,
all I had, was hope,
Before there was forgiveness,
I was filled with hate, anger, and greed,
Before there was change,
I was cruel, vengeful, and mean,
When night comes, I lay down,
and fold my hands to pray,
I thank God, for every second of my life, that made me,
Who I am today
