Who I Am In Silence
In this silence, I reflect on the way it used to be
Dancing, laughing, when my strength emerged with sound
But, music doesn’t always keep drumming away, playing
And silence can bring to surface what may have drowned
A quiet gift with a new chance to see every single part of me
My heart beats slower, calmed by these soft breaths
Without silence, I may have become lost in distractions
Unable to find a place to be, a place to call home for me
But, here is my safe place where I hold onto what I’ve found
No need to speak within my comforting blanket of silence
In my safe haven, I will see and I will know just who I am
